Organisation Instructor Licence Terms

These Licence Terms apply to FIWI Maritime digital training products purchased under the standard Organisation Instructor Licence unless a quotation or order confirmation states a different licence.

Standard licence: one named legal entity may use the purchased material internally in its own professional training operations. The licence is non-exclusive, non-transferable and perpetual for the purchased version.

1. Permitted use

The licensed organisation may provide the material to its employees, instructors and contractors who need it to prepare or deliver training for that organisation. The organisation may print reasonable working copies and store internal digital copies required for that purpose.

2. Simulator adaptation

Instructors may adapt scenario parameters, vessel data, local simulator settings and delivery notes as reasonably necessary to use the material in the organisation’s own simulator or training environment. Such adaptations do not transfer ownership of the original FIWI material.

3. Internal learner use

Student briefs, exercises and learner-facing material may be distributed to participants receiving training delivered by the licensed organisation. Instructor-only material should remain restricted to personnel involved in planning, delivery or assessment.

4. Prohibited use

The customer may not resell, sublicense, publish, upload to a public repository, distribute to another legal entity, provide the source material to unrelated third-party training providers, or commercially exploit the material as a standalone product without FIWI’s written permission.

5. Corporate groups and affiliates

The standard licence covers the legal entity named on the order confirmation. Parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, franchisees or other group entities are not automatically included. FIWI can provide a group or multi-entity licence on request.

6. Copyright and attribution

Copyright and all intellectual-property rights in the original material remain with FIWI AS. Removal of copyright notices, product identifiers or licence notices is not permitted except where FIWI expressly authorises a customer-branded derivative.

7. Updates

The licence applies to the version purchased. Future revisions, new scenario packs, major updates or additional modules are not included unless the order confirmation expressly says otherwise.

8. Custom products

Custom-developed material may have project-specific usage rights stated in the quotation or order confirmation. Unless otherwise agreed, FIWI retains its underlying templates, methodology, know-how and reusable components.

9. Termination

FIWI may terminate the licence for material breach that is not remedied after written notice. On termination, the customer must stop using and distributing the licensed material and delete copies where legally and practically possible.

10. Contact

Questions about licensing, additional legal entities or wider deployment can be sent to [email protected].
